Mariam Lomadze has been making very dissimilar self-portraits, each one representing the stages of her self-development, phases of life, and profound feelings either as a kind of defeating fears or simply overcoming obstacles in innermost ways. This particular Self-portrait on canvas was made in 2019 and does not belong to any project. Although, it could be said that independently of when Lomadze produces them, her self-representation usually seems to be distant, dreamy, and mysterious, living in between the non-descriptive and the ambiguous.
