My Green Dream

Being a girl in a female-oppressing, conservative society, I have always felt intimidated to mind my private life the way I wanted and the way it would make me happy. Women in Georgia struggle to have privacy – everyone tries to intervene and be constantly aware of whether there is any man in their life, who are they meeting, where are they going, etc.
This work and the following work, I believe, are protests of some kind saying: ‘Yes, I am a woman dressed in a glamorous gown, and I am having a male guest over. Is he a friend? A beloved lover? A neighbor needing help? They will never know because it is my life and my choice to keep it to myself.
